I start this series with the fun job of showing you how each element has a personality of sorts. Look at the periodic table of the elements
Today we start with Hydrogen, the smallest of all the elements.
Elemental size is expressed in a term AMU - atomic mass unit.
Each element wants a partner or many partners - yes some elements are polyamorous! Carbon wants THREE partners! LOL. But Hydrogen is monogamous. It wants one partner. But Oxygen wants two partners so what to do to help out poor Oxygen? Hydrogen offers two of itself = H2O. Oh that’s water!
So, to start our series of elemental “personalities” we shall dig into the five most important elements for human and plant life. The CHOSN ones. Courtesy of David Stewart via The Chemistry of Essential Oils, God’s Love Manifest in Molecules.
Periodic Table of the Elements
(where all nutrients come from)
CHOSN ones (TERNARY - OR CALORIC ELEMENTS)
Carbon - carbonic acids and CO2 and all life is made with Carbon - though there is evidence silicon based life can and does exist?
Hydrogen
“It supplies the bridge between oxygen and carbon” Steiner talk
Oxygen - the provider of life, yet in excess causes rapid aging….needs controls
Sulfur - sulfuric acid - spicy flavor in onions and cabbage family = thiol = glutathione…hint hint
Nitrogen - amino acids, restraining/mediating element - Jensen, Steiner many others pre 1950
For cell membranes, physical structure, neurotransmitters, Hormones, Nerves, Muscles, Skin, etc…
Elemental Energetics and Individuality
Elements – certain people can need up to a 1,000 times more of a nutrient/mineral than others
The list of chemical elements most needed (from Bernard Jensen – The Chemistry of Man)
+++Protein Structure and Hydrogen
Protein structure can be divided into four main categories depending on level of complexity.
Peptide bonds between amino acids form the primary structure. Formation of hydrogen bonds between this initial structure leads to the formation of the secondary protein structure.
+++Alkaline Macro Minerals (occur in large quantities) and Hydrogen
Calcium
Mag
Sodium
Potassium
Acid Macro Minerals
Sulfur
Carbon
Hydrogen
Phosphorus
Chloride
In essence, we are alchemists, making ourselves new every moment, using "adaptogens" called Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen, Sulfur, and Nitrogen. THESE are the original adaptogens, not the darling herbs someone is making money on. Plants adapt well, and they help humans adapt to their environment. They are another player in the Symphony of Life.

ALL RIGHT CRAIG YOU HAVE WRITTEN ALOT BUT I AM NOT GETTING IT!
WHAT IS THE BOTTOM LINE? WHAT IS HYDROGEN’S PERSONALITY?
So, here we shall have my views, Bernard Jensen, and Rudolph Steiner on Hydrogen.

Since water is only Hydrogen and Oxygen, which one is the hydrating part? Seems obvious, hydro-gen / hydration? Jensen, in his book The Chemistry of Man, states hydrogen means “water generator.” “By itself hydrogen does not create life.”
“It is able to permeate, or filter through matter.”
“It’s properties of inflammability, explosiveness, expansion and diffusion are GREATER than those of any other element.” WOW!
“hydrogen goes about it’s work silently, calmly.” “But like carbon, it is a creator in soil, rock, vegetation, trees, brain, heart.” “It is characteristically silent, mysterious, passive, inert, sleepy, and secretive.”
Next is Rudolph Steiner, who has some amazing explorations of the elements has these things to say about Hydrogen:
“But the whole of the very delicate structure which is formed in the living being must be able to disappear again.”
“ It is not the spirit which disappears, but that which the spirit has built up in the carbon and into which it has drawn the etheric life borne in the oxygen. It must disappear not only from the earth, but dissipate into the Cosmos. “
“This is done by forming a substance which is allied as closely as possible to the physical, and yet is allied as closely as possible to the spiritual; This substance is hydrogen. “
“Although hydrogen is itself the most attenuated form of the physical substance, it goes still further and dissipates physical matter which, borne by sulfur, floats away into that cosmic region in which matter is no longer distinguishable…”
“This element, which is so closely allied both to the physical and to the spiritual, is hydrogen. Hydrogen carries away all that the astral principle Has taken up as form and life, carries it out into the expanses of the Cosmos, so that it can be taken up again from thence (by earthly substance) as I have already described. Hydrogen in fact dissolves everything.”
“Our chemistry speaks only of the corpses of these substances, not of the actual substances themselves. These we must learn to know as something living and sentient, and, curiously enough, hydrogen, which seems the least dense of the five and has the smallest atomic weight, is the least spiritual among them.”
“Now all these substances of which I have spoken, Sulphur, Carbon, Nitrogen, Hydrogen are united in albumen(protein). This will enable us to see more clearly into the nature of seed formation. (in the plants)”
“Whenever carbon, hydrogen and nitrogen are present in leaf, blossom, calyx or root they are always united to other substances in some form or other. They are dependent upon these other substances. There are only two ways in which they can become independent.”
“One is when the hydrogen carries all individual substances out into the expanses of the Cosmos and dissolves them into the general chaos; and the other is when the hydrogen drives the basic element of the protein (for albumen) into the seed formation and there makes them independent of each other so that they become receptive of the influences of the Cosmos…”
Craig’s Musings on Hydrogen’s personality:
First thoughts:
Hydrogen seems the ultimate feminine qualities yet it is also explosive. You might think of that as the yin/feminine archetype is quiet, soft, receptive, building up / anabolic. So in that, you build a log so to speak. In that log is potential energy to become heat in a fire. Hydrogen is what does the dissolving of the actual wood to become flame. That lines up with Steiner’s statements.
Monogamous
Hydrogen wants to bond with only one other element - it has + charge so wants a - charged molecule - like Chloride. Or Oxygen…
Like a thief in the night
Hydrogen is mostly not thought of, but it is referred to:
“hydrogen goes about it’s work silently, calmly.” “But like carbon, it is a creator in soil, rock, vegetation, trees, brain, heart.” “It is characteristically silent, mysterious, passive, inert, sleepy, and secretive.”
Washes away
From above - “Hydrogen in fact dissolves everything.”
Hydrogen bombs - an example of stored power
Hydrogen cell engines - yet another example of this versatile element…
One of the five essential elements to life - the CHOSN ones
We cannot live without hydrogen. Do you need “special hydrogen water” = no. But we want Nature’s frequencies, Nature’s song - if you will, to maximize our health and clarity and even embodiment of our soul. If you do not believe in that, it’s ok just imagine being your best.
Hydrogen is part of all physical form, part of water, part of proteins, carbs, fats, and all human tissue and plant.
I hope you enjoyed this exploration of our life and our world - looking beyond the tiny box most see health from.
